Sanitary Flange made of Plastic

Sanitary flange connections can be found in all systems and processes in the pharmaceutical and also in biotechnological industry and have been established as a reliable standard since many years. The plastic fittings with sanitary flange and hose barb transfer the type of connection, which is typically used for stainless-steel components, into the world of disposables. This opens up numerous possibilities to design processes and integrate single-use systems made of plastic. Thereby many advantages arise, like more flexible design possibilities for pre-assembled systems, higher flexibility of processes and the omission of complex cleaning validations.

The sanitary flange fittings made of plastic are available in the materials polypropylene and also Kynar® PVDF. The selection of the best suitable material depends on the application and the parameters of the process and are recommended to be considered beforehand. Self-evidently, both materials have been tested exceedingly, are not only free of animal components, but also compliant to USP Class VI. Sample certificates are available upon request.

Sanitary flange fittings made of plastic are available with hose barbs in different sizes. The 3/4″ sanitary flange is available with hose barbs in the sizes from 3,2 mm to 19,1 mm and for the 1-1/2“ sanitary flange, options with hose barbs from 3,2 mm to 25,4 mm are available. They cover a broad range of applications and are also suitable for many processes due to the many different Tri-Clamp flange and hose barb sizes. The fixation of the tubing on the hose barb is usually done by cable ties. An alternative to the cable tie is the Oetiker Clamp made of stainless-steel or a clamp ring made of plastic, like the BarbLock™ made by Saint-Gobain.

Plastic TC connectors are being used in both, simple hose lines for liquid transfers and also complex filtration assemblies. There they can be used for connecting a fluid filter or as a connection to the vessel, for example. We will gladly design an individual system with you, which exactly suits your process and requirements.

We also offer you the possibility to package, label and gamma irradiate your Tri-Clamp fittings individually on request, as a part of our cleanroom services. Also, we offer entire kits, for instance, two Tri-Clamp adapters, one silicone gasket and a TC clamp made of plastic.
